A Facebook follower once asked me what it sounds like when I'm out with the wild horses. That was an unexpected but interesting question. In answer, I made this short video clip to share. Many people liked it, so now I share it with you. Turn your speakers up!
It was a hot, dry, early fall day on the Onaqui Mountain Herd Management Area. It had been an extremely dry summer and the moisture bringing snow had not come yet. Still these horses are in remarkably good shape. You can hear the ground "crunch" beneath the horses feet, and of course the horse sounds.Â
Regardless of the time of year, one of my favorite experiences is when I can be on the desert with the horses, and it's even more special when there is no one else around.Â
